Hey let’s be fair on Delia she has at least seen her side promoted a few times and managed a few seasons in the Premier League. Evans turned us into a mid table League One club! Whatever you may feel about Delia, she will never be as bad as Marcus Evans was!

Listening to Delia on 10:27 - Dec 1 with 4619 views | _clive_baker_ | To be fair to her the game and industry has just completely outgrown her hasn't it? She's incredibly wealthy by normal standards don't get me wrong, but she's nowhere near premier league owner levels in terms of the depth of her pockets. Seems like a bit of a transition at Norwich in terms of selling the club, probably is what they need in the longer term. Putting any bias aside, it's a bit of a shame really, she personifies the change in the English game over the past 30 years or so.

I don't even think she's Championship level now in terms of depth of her pockets. She can't even fund the sort of losses Evans used to. Their recent 'success' and receipt of PL/parachute money is the reason she's been able to be there that long. It feels like it is all about to come crashing down. [Post edited 1 Dec 2023 10:40]

That's probably true. Must be hard to acknowledge that fact when it's been your club for so long, but to sustain multi million £ losses each year isn't easy. The future outlook does look bleak for them without investment. I read through their accounts just out of interest as much as anything else. I'm an accountant, I enjoy that sort of stuff. They're so highly leveraged (albeit the lions share isn't external debt) and their future revenues are due to drop materially when their parachute money ends this summer. Relative to their cost base it's a frightening hole they're staring into, they'll have to make some huge cuts and hope to get some decent fees for their bigger ticket players. Even then they wont be able to operate at anything close to breaking even I wouldn't think. It's not uncommon, which makes it even more mind boggling, and we've been there ourselves of course. But what a mad world when clubs are losing £20m a season to finish 15th in the Championship, all clinging on to that PL dream.
Listening to Delia on 11:18 - Dec 1 with 4348 views | ArnieM | I honestly don’t think the game is sustainable in its current format and with Sky seemingly pulling all the strings financially. Their money had killed the game. There’s far too much money sloshing around for the privileged few whilst the promise of riches if you reach the promised land is like a class A drug. It distorts common sense thinking and encourages clubs to take massive risks, usually ending in huge debts. If we ran our lives the way these clubs do we’d all be bankrupt in a year and living on the streets.

Yer, I’ve just been watching that interview. Their new Co owner looks and sounds like he hadn’t got a clue what he’s buying into . At least our owners snd infrastructure are grounded in what’s required in this sport. It’s going to be interesting to watch what happens over the boarder. But DS and her husband sound like they’re from a bygone age and clearly ( as Clive Baker alludes too), are punching way above their financial capabilities now.

Listening to Delia on 14:44 - Dec 1 with 3872 views | Stewart27 | It was a tragic interview. Bloody lovely stuff. I thought Delia (when sober) had a lot more media presence about her when it came to interviews. Not one thing about that made me think there is any thought process or governance in anything they do. Again lovely stuff. She’s rightfully angry with their pathetic fickle fans. The quiet field mice. That bit she did get right.

Be careful if you're planning to drive soon after one of those runs. Either that or don't breathe in as you go past.

I feel sorry for her on 09:46 - Dec 2 with 3250 views | Dyland | She's a good egg. Football has completely gone a different way and she is an anachronism. That shows her in a good light, imo. I don't feel sorry for that vocal and ignorantly entitled Nodge fans at all, obviously. It's a good solid second/third tier club that's punched well above its weight for twenty years. The most "interesting" facts about Nodge are their celebrity know-nothing-football fans.

I've just watched the interview I think you're referring to in this thread. Blimey - doesn't fill me with hope for them. Shame. Delia's a good 'un really - but like others have said, the game has moved on and she and Michael haven;t been able to keep up. but she knows that. She's done a great job in keeping them punching above their weight. A liked the other guy in the interview - but he doesn't sound like he;s got a lot of drive and passion. A bit like Evans I'd say. Admits he doesn't know a lot about the game but has got his lad doing some analytics for him! I liked that. I did like the bit near the beginning where he said that 3 coaches in 2 years isn't good and speaks of a 'knee jerk reactions'. Delia and Michael didn't look too happy as he said what was really a bit of an unintended slap down. Let's hope this guy is as successful for them as Evans was for us.

As for Norwich though, they fully deserve a decade of lower mid table Championship football to make up for the luck they have had for so long.

It was very awkward interview, Delia and wynn Jones look utterly clueless.
