I think Southgate's time was always up but he has been more successful other than Sir Alf. I still say something is wrong with English football in international football, why have all managers since Sir Alf failed.
Do we as fans expect too much?
There was a recent interview with an Italian footballer who said they always went into the league phase just wanting to get out of the league irrelevant of performance, even if they all end 0-0, and Italian fans know that and accept it.
