Who’s next through the door…. 20:24 - Jul 1 with 3362 viewsipswichtillidie

Goalkeeper obviously needed with Vas released. They must have a plan. Rushworth movement incoming?
Perhaps a renewal of interest in Greaves or maybe a late run for Rodon. Can see us moving onto other targets here perhaps.
More news on Downes in CM.
Fotis… as that has gone quiet on all fronts given the alleged interest. I suspect Olympiacos have found resistance at their asking price.
Maybe a left field name out of the blue we haven’t heard of. Dutch player…

Rodon is off to Leeds in the Archie Gray swap deal?

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

we wont get rodon, probably would have done without the spurs gray move. but spurs will reject any offers for him as it's basically a cash plus player deal for gray but done in a different way for ffp purposes.

a niche perspective

It was said not to be linked and done as a separate deal. I was speculating that If we had enquired we may follow through with another bid. Given he has a year left I think the asking price is possibly over our valuation. Leeds seem more likely to push the boat out as he was key to their backline.

nah, it's seperate in the books but it's not a seperate agreement, hence they rejected our bid despite it matching was leeds offered.

This seems to be happening a lot in this window. Struggling to get my head around how it works tbh.

Sales count 100% immediately. Purchase costs are spread over the length of the contract.

Ok. But a lot of clubs seem to be trading between each other. How is this an advantage to say Spurs for instance in the Grey/Rodon trade. If we pay the same money. Excuse my ignorance.

More of Spurs say they want gray, leeds say ok but only if you give us £ and rodon but done in this way only. Remember in this deal, gray had a medical with brentford THEN leeds rejected their offer to open negotiations with spurs... something interesting about this deal is the apparent 0 sell on clause in the deal, so spurs have accepted the high price and rodon transfer but ensuring they keep all future profit.

I do wonder if they will go for Cooper at Plymouth, but I'm going to assume Cooper isn't going to move to be a No.2 GK, which I guess brings us back to Walton and will he stick or twist

Seems the most likely. Is there some ITK with that statement or gut feeling?
With regards Vas I think the GK position was one they were always going to look at. Vas would have known a new keeper was coming in and subsequently the contact offer was that of a No2 who is 33. Just my opinion.

There’s a long thread on Brighton’s North Stand Chat forum about Rushworth which I’ve skimmed through and the general consensus seems to be they’d consider selling him a bad move as seen as future England number 1 but loaning seems popular. I doubt we’d be looking at him as a loan but they seem to rate him highly. Caveat - maybe the Northstand Chatters have slightly inflated opinions of their players like some other clubs I can think of….
