What's the best way to clean a bollard? 23:28 - Jun 29 with 2031 viewswkj

One of the big drawbacks of East Anglia living is that horrible hard water we have to endure. I noticed my bollards were getting a little grimy after a lot of splash from the wet spring and was wanting to get it sparkling before Alfresco Season is concluded.

I've tried giving it a good soap and a rinse but all I get is white streaks and sadness when the people at number 26 are judging me while cooing over their pristine posts. I was considering getting a Jet wash but she's not up to much since the Gladiators golden era (before the BBC boIIocksed it all up)

My bollards are painted black and not plastic, so tcut probably wont cut it.

Thanks

You could dangle them in a bowl of caustic soda, but you'd probably not enjoy the experience.

My cock's in a right old state too.

Can't you just give it a good stroking with some white gloss.
That should hide the stains.

I've been back in the UK for some years now, and I do have dirty bollards - genuinely. I used to have the composite plastic ones with lights on the top but replaced them for something more robust - problem is that my bollards look knackered after only a year of being sunk in the ground.

It is impossible to provide the advice you seek without more details on the composition and size of your bollards.
Some pictures would also help.

I will try to upload a picture tomorrow as it's been a wet one today so the bollards are looking nicely polished... but it won't last. As soon is they dry off they will look like they've been up Tony Montana's nose after an all night rave.

Get some new ones. There's a place in Hull that will loan them to you and you'll be very pleased with how good they are. Whatever you do though, don't buy them from there if you're offered the chance as you will soon be disappointed with how quickly the quality deteriorates.

Oh no.............. silly me, I'm thinking of bullards .
