It really wasn't valiant other than about 3 minutes in the 2nd half. Tactically we were poor, and far too conservative. Everything that Spain weren't. Their performance was light years ahead of ours. |  | | |

Think England played more long balls from out of defence than what Ipswich did for the entirety of last season. Southgate’s tactics invite pressure on to the defence and rarely take the game to the opposition. We lost against a very good team, but we kind of gave Spain a helping hand.
A man with constipation has more movement than what Kane did throughout this tournament and Foden was never at his best. A reluctance to change things and Southgate’s defensive mindset hindered the team.
Spain were very good but we should have put them under more pressure. |  | | |

We played pretty well based on previous performances and within the bounds of reality.
I'd change the manager and look to bring in a replacement for Pickford who can play it at the back (I heard Hladky is available). Kane shouldn't be captain. | | | |

Sounds like something someone with a losers mentality would say.
Here's a winning mentality for you. We had 4 players up top who had 160ish goal contributions across the best three leagues in the world. On the bench you had subs with 20+. Yet we decided to set up to play defensively and created the worst xg for much of the tournament. This is impressively poor. We progressed on individual quality, not team play. A winning mentality would play more than 20 minutes a game going for a win.
Not that I care much about England, compared to England. But we had an easy route to the final and this was a wasted opportunity. And we knew it likely would from the first game |  |
