Why not "Towen TV" ? 22:03 - Jul 17 with 1792 views | Sibelius8 | Calling our online service "Town TV" seems rather generic. Why should we not be more individual and celebrate being unique? We are a very special club after all! Let's call ourselves, for online matches, a distinctive "Towen TV". Why not? Time for a re-brand? It would certainly give us an extra special identity and maybe help to preserve our fast disappearing (alas!) "Suffik" accent.

Why not "Towen TV" ? on 00:23 - Jul 18 with 1613 views | Rocky | Agree. We shouldn't try to hide our roots. Why be boringly generic? It's far better to be different from every other club. Should Newcastle supporters not refer to themselves as the Toon then?

I would say the Suffolk accent (or one of them) has a pronunciation more like Touwn.

Have you not? Anyone with a proper Ipswich accent says it that way. Seems a quirk of Ipswich, and different even from wider Suffolk, to stick in an extra vowel. Moo-en is another one that I enjoy hearing from proper old Ipwich boys. Celebrate Suffolk accents, I say, celebrate them proudly. Lord knows you never hear any in the media.

Why not "Towen TV" ? on 11:58 - Jul 18 with 1133 views | HighgateBlue | There aren't /that/ many other teams called Town, and I think Towen does play into the tractory rural stereotype that makes us easy to mock. We reclaimed "tractor boys" and I think that was the best way of neutralising it as a condescending term. There's nothing wrong with being from any part of the country or having any accent, but given that the vast majority don't naturally say "Towen", I don't think it represents the fans even. So although I like ideas that have a bit of personality, and I do like shouting 'Uppa Towen' once in a while (And it's even funnier when the American owners have a go at it!) I think Town TV works just fine.

Definitely a thing but I do think people say it forcefully sometimes and it sounds a bit stupid, whereas a natural Suffolk accent from an old boy sounds lovely.
