Away day ballot percentage 15:16 - Jul 22 with 2259 viewsThe_Romford_Blue

Anyone know what allocation goes to the ballot?

Seeing as almost all of my aways last season were bought through other people, I can’t see myself getting to any games through my account. That was until the ballot came along.

What percentage of each away allocation do we reckon will be balloted. 15% or is that wishful thinking.

I am hopeful that if I apply for every ballot, I’ll get lucky at least a few times.

Got to be 10-20%. Guessing it will be on the lower side though.

I have your details on my log in so I just need to buy your ticket before you do...

Ahh that’s not ideal. A 3k away end for most clubs means 150 tickets.

If on average there’s 2000 members per ballot, and I apply for every ballot, my chances are I’ll get to 1 or 2 games max.

As work have agreed I can get any game off I want as long as I give them 10 days notice and it’s not grand national day, home or away, I will be at every home game for my season ticket and as many aways as I can. Therefore, if you hear of any away ticket going spare, let me know Sitters please.

Is it? It's only 150 out of 3000 and there'll be a helluva lot more than that trying to apply for it.

Agreed. I still think 10% is fair. 300 tickets and leaves 2,700 tickets which is still above our average away attendance last season.

Same, although depends how many we have in each points category. I think anyone with 20 or more points should be guaranteed a ticket before the ballot.

Just to be clear I don't have 20 points.

I think the club are doing their bit to protect those in higher groups, which personally I think is fair.

How can there possibly be more than 2,700 in higher groups though? Our average away attendance was around the 2,400-2,500 mark last season.

Yeah it's mathematically impossible, unless my category of 15+ is also considered a higher group (I don't personally).

Highly implausible I should have said. Theoretically we could have had 4800 members going half the time, all in the 20+ group with memberships redeemed, but in reality we have a core group who go most if not all of the time, plus a healthy group of members who go a handful of times. I'm convinced 2850 priority seats would allow for plenty in the 15+ group to begin with, which I consider to be a lower category.

I'm thinking there should probably be a 19 pts category!

D'oh just occurred to me that away capacity isn't just priority scheme + ballot, we've got the chunk for staff and celebrity friends as well haven't we. If to the ballot is 5% then complementary will no doubt exceed that for popular away games.
