What a bloody exciting yet scary goal keeper he is.

Gifted with ball at his feet, those scary short midfield passes will get better as he builds a better relationship with the players in front of him.

He's certainly going to get a lot of groans from behind him. But when we get more quality in front of him and better understanding of his ability with the ball, he's a massive weapon.. some of those long diags over the top were fantastic. Likewise some poor ones to. But he's got excellent length on his kicks.

Really looking forward to seeing more of him.

He also catches crosses and corners, which I approve of.

It's certainly a fine balance about encouraging the opposition forwards towards him - and then playing round them to build up attacks. He gave the ball away on about 3 occasions - and we were quite lucky not to concede. His long ball distribution was usually very good - as was his command for crosses. But we certainly need to work on his short passes to our defenders.

I agree with this and I'm a fan of playing from the back like we do. Did it a couple of times against Hoffenheim too.

Not sure we have anyone other than Morsy who can receive the ball under pressure consistently to play that way. Much prefer his longer passing into Hutchnson/Johnson

I don’t think Morsy will be able to receive the ball in the Prem like he has for the last two years. I don’t think he’s strong enough to do so against pressing Prem opponents.

We'll have to wait and see.

Championship players are no mugs. Morsy adapted last year from the step up seamlessly. Don't know his game pre-ipswich, but he looks like he's getting better and better. Nearly 33 and he looks the fittest and strongest of our squad. Always amazes me his touch and coolness whilst receiving the ball in tight spots.

He did it against Nice, which is a pretty high standard!

It’ll be from the sublime to the ridiculous with him, and people need to price that in to their thinking.

Muric got lucky two or three times yesterday there is a time to get rid or we will be punished.

Again, that’s not how we play and it has to be priced in to people’s thinking. We’ll make at least half a dozen mistakes playing that way.

This was notable to me too. I can’t remember the last we had a had that took the ball out of the air with both hands, with such ease. The game / threat is dead once a keeper does this. Such an imposing figure, and no slouch at getting down for shots despite his man mountain physic .

His distribution was very poor and played us into trouble a few times, that will need to be improved massively. Catching crosses etc not a problem, he was very good.

I like him and its going to be not short of excitement in regards to his playing out of the back.....but.... too early.to tell in regards to the other aspects as a goalkeeper. He's 6ft 5, so he can catch a regulation ball easily enough, but I haven't seem him come out aggressively and command his area yet. Not all about height. There was at least one cross yesterday where he was hesitant to come off his line into a crowd of bodies. Just saying, it's early days, but I like seeing a goalkeeper command his area and I'm not sure how good he is of that yet.

Early days yet and still plenty to prove. Interesting to read how many of our supporters were moaning when we first showed our interest in him. Give the bloke a fair crack of the whip and a good run of games, then make a judgement. Encouraging signs so far.

I like him too & he is a big upgrade on Vaz, in terms of his overall game.
I do get the feeling though, that he is going to get caught out & lobbed from a fair distance out at some point this season; a slightly wayward pass or a poor first touch from a midfielder could leave all 6ft5" of him in no man's land, as a £60m+ opposition player tries a Beckham from the centre circle.
