Tempted to do a Basil Fawlty - what did you expect in Ipswich on a Friday night , Lou Reed necking with Debby Harry in Spoons, Christopher Isherwood noshing WH Auden in the Cock and Pye, Marie Helvin arriving in the Salutation on a horse?

Haha, they used to play a drum and bass version of Wonderwall in an Oxford club about 15 years back - it would end the night in the cheese music room. It was a fun track to be fair.

That’s not quite how I would describe it!!!

The Thursday night mid 2000’s £10 all you could drink used to be good nights in there.

Chicago Rock Cafe did exactly the same thing in Ipswich, with some p1ss finger buffet thrown in.

I dread to think the state of the draught I drank on that. Probably the equivalent of the chicken bits they put in economy nuggets.

Only my opinion but yes the evening/nightlife in Ipswich is horrific. Lots of potential to add however to say the waterfront area

Hard to disagree with it isn't it. 20 odd years ago 'when I were a lad' there were loads of late night places to go, but over the years they've all gone. I would say I feel for the younger generation but demand drives supply so I assume there's just a lack of interest (Internet etc).

Quite correct. Rather have late opening drinks venues than dedicated clubs. Things change.

Back in " the good ole days" travelling fans used to go up to Gt Yarmouth for their "night out" quite often used find oppo fans in Tiffany's and though this was in the more violent era it was generally no worse than usual 80s night out if you know what I mean.

It’s like that everywhere. London shuts at midnight now. There just isn’t the demand.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!
Poll: With Evans taking 65% in Huddersfield, is the Banter Era over?

In Park End in Oxford it was some knock off Hooch type stuff I remember drinking.

It was probably piss from the toilet with a little alcohol and colouring in it.

A Chicago’s round our way done it on a Monday night, was pretty popular, don’t remember them doing food though.

Lucky he landed on a busy night!
