Going to be incredibly tough for Kieran to drop him when Greaves returns... personally think he's been immense last few games.

But equally Greaves was immense before that!

Nice problem to have ...

It's Burgess' shirt to lose.

Greaves will have to be patient.

Cam has been outstanding.

It was 15 months ago when we all thought that he was the one to be replaced when we went into the championship and he was brilliant last year.

He really has developed and he has not looked out of place.

It bodes well for new transfers in because they can see this development in terms of performances for all players currently here and some transfer targets would be gagging to work with KM

He won't he'll be straight back in.

No slight on Burgess at all. But greaves has the speed and passing that Burgess doesn't have.

But what an option to have.

a niche perspective

That's a great point Reus30 , we have the manager and coaching staff that improve players , which is a real change from the past years .

The new signings , have increased in value which is great , but it also encourages them to stay and for potential signings to sign up .

How many games would the likes of Delap and Hutchinson have played if they had stayed with their previous clubs , whereas here they have improved so much and are getting regular games .

Cherry on the cake is that McKenna can see all the hard work throughout the club is paying dividends .

I genuinely don't think it will work like that. If Greaves is fit after the internationals he'll be straight back in. A bit like with O'Shea there isn't room for sentiment and McKenna will play what he feels is his best 11 and will want O'Shea and Greaves back together. Was the same when Davis joined. He was the future of left back for us and was straight it. I really think it is that straightforward and the clarity of decision is like that for McKenna.

Been many moons since we had squad depth like we have now, to actually have players that can change a game with skill power and pace.. and actually looking for the 65-70 minute change as it’s part of our game, and you know your bringing on players like for like is a fantastic !!

Correct, it won’t. Despite how well he keeps the fringe players motivated, KM doesn’t do sentiment. He’ll know his strongest 11 and they start every time they’re fit. Greaves will be in that 11. Possibly, Burgess has given him a tough decision to make about O’Shea, but I expect the latter will be straight in too.

I feel sorry for Woolf. He’s every bit as capable of doing what Burgess has done, and is more cultured on the ball, but it doesn’t look like he’ll be getting much game time at all. He’s at the stage of his career when he needs to play week in week out imo.

Again, most of the wayward passes today were from Burgess.

Has to be Greaves when fit as he is the complete package.

Don't think it's going to be as difficult a decision as some think.

Greaves is our first choice LCB and will remain so. Burgess has shown he's capable cover if we need him.

What a story re Burgess though. From back up in league 1 to playing at Spurs. Delighted for him

Won't happen before next summer at the earliest, but with the world cup 18 months away he may think he needs to move on for regular game time if his lack of appearances affects his Oz chances.

For the same reason I imagine Mass will be playing in the A-league next season.

And to think after Pompey away when he played left back (and did a great job) there were plenty on here saying how bad he was and shouldn’t get picked at League One level 😂
