Good old classic consistent reffing 20:26 - Nov 9 with 2193 views | Reus30 | In the Liverpool Villa match. Honestly it's shambles. It's likely too many rubbish rules or the over reliance on VAR but honestly, wtf

Good old classic consistent reffing on 20:40 - Nov 9 with 2082 views | Swansea_Blue | It’s too big a job for most refs. They need to use someone with a cool head, who’s comfortable dealing with players and managers but doesn’t get starstruck by big egos and who is used to dealing with petty childish squabbles. Step forward…….Phil!

Good old classic consistent reffing on 21:08 - Nov 9 with 1953 views | Illinoisblue | Does them scoring the goal negate the pretty clear foul in the build up? Can -or should - a ref go back and book the defender there? Looks like he ignored it as he might have had to send him off. And what was VAR doing?

Looked like he didn't even believe that it was a foul. If he played on and they scored it should be a yellow as a goal scoring oppurtunity wasn't denied but the intent was clear. To not even think that shove was a foul was baffling.
Good old classic consistent reffing on 21:21 - Nov 9 with 1853 views | Reus30 | Didn't book Watkins for a dive but gave them the free kick but the offside bs just then. Obviously it's a foul in the build up to the Liverpool goal but he waved it away. Sometimes football is so dumb to watch.

The problem is the refs don't have the respect in the game that Rugby refs do. So the only ones that actually have any clout are the big egos. The rest just crumble under the big 6 pressure. It's a broken system. I do not know how it can be fixed. The egos make the game all about them, and the rest just suck up to the big teams. This will not change with the amount of revenue at stake in the Premier League. Football is broken.
The Saints disallowed VAR goal was ridiculous on 00:04 - Nov 10 with 1402 views | unstableblue | It really again throws further question on missed penalty last week; referee waves away the foul, but VAR then intervenes?! And it’s definitely not a foul on the Wolves player - so how are VAR giving that, after Chaplin was taken out I’m not sure the referee pool is full of smart, talented and composed people.

Very true. It's possibly the only sport where cheating is seen as part of the game and applauded by players, fans and pundits. These PL and EFL refs have done a lot of hard yards and literally thousands of games to get where they are. However, it's not just the best that get there but because of the d*ckheads on a saturday and sunday morning in the local park, it's the most resilient too. I've seen numerous good young refs hang up their whistles because of the behaviour on the touchline. Some of the hysteria on here and other sites makes me realise why.

Good old classic consistent reffing on 10:21 - Nov 10 with 844 views | OldFart71 | Isn't it all about what's at stake ? The money sloshing about in football today is partly to blame for all it's ill's. Yes we have if we wish or can afford it wall to wall football. But that comes with many things that alienate many true passionate fans because of the costs and this includes pushing them out to make way for Roy Keane's "Prawn sandwich brigade" I won't stick up for referees as over the many years I have watched football and seen many debatable decisions where quite frankly the straightness of certain referees can be brought into question and the fact that bigger clubs get the decisions is still alive and well. But as suggested players haven't made decisions easy for refs because as we see in every game they cheat. But it won't go away because if you know your opponent is going to go down at the slightest touch, will leave a trailing leg, will claim handball or a throw in when clearly it was accidental or went out off your foot then you know you have to do the same. VAR was supposed to eradicate a lot of controversy, but as we have seen only made it worse and is partly destroying the spectacle of seeing a game of football.
