Can't help but wonder if it's acknowledgement in preparation for departure - similar to Edmundson coming on at the Etihad. Hasn't Luongo had the armband before, with Morsy absent? [Post edited 12 Jan 14:25]

Luongo - yes. But as he hasn’t played it would be a bit of a kick in the teeth this for those who have.
It does worry me that it might be a final honour before he moves on. Like I say, I really hope not. | |

No he's staying unless anything major changes. McKenna sounded quite clear when talking about Clarke potentially going on loan that not others.
Having said that I still think Luongo might go out this window. | |
