Pretty sure they won't sell to us, but if Wolves weren't a rival, that would be an absolute bargain at £5m in an area we need to improve.

There will be wages, yes. He's probably on less than Kalvin Phillips. Wolves won't sell or loan to us anyway.

I wasn't sure if he's high earner and if we've got the headroom for any more of them. He'd be decent enough.

He's also nuts?

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

He has essentially downed tools looking for a move and your suggesting him as a target for us, a team in a relegation battle.. Jesus wept

Why do we need yet another defensive midfielder?

Because the ones we have are our weakest link. As i posted yesterday, no point buying Philogene if we can't get the ball to him enough.

Morsy has been class
Philips is coming into form
Cajuste has been class
Taylor has shown he can do it in the prem

We don't need another midfielder to sit,

If anything, our weakest area is up front and in goal

Disagree, see here
Midfield conundrum by Trequartista 20 Jan 10:30
I agree its turning out to be our weakest link. The attacking midfielders are starved of service.

I think Morsy started the season well but has declined, Cajuste is clearly premier league class but as of yet hasn't imposed himself on a game for long enough periods, and I don't think Phillips is any better than neat and tidy. Taylor is not suited to the pivot role and Luongo is only good enough to see games out with 15 mins left.

If we have one more player to come in, that's where we need to strengthen. No point spending all the money on Philogene if we can't get the ball to him.

Do you think up front the strikers are getting plenty of the ball and wasting it?

Talking to yourself by the looks of things,

You post nothing but negativity

If the midfield was the problem, the management would be targeting midfielders, instead they've targeted attackers,

Shows they know a hell of a lot more than you do

Yes - can't imagine that he would be a disruptive influence in our dressing room, his approach to date has been super professional!

Unlikely they'd sell to us, and I don't like his attitude - he wouldn't fit in with our team ethos.

Another poster without either the ability to read or engage in a polite constructive way.

Takes 30 seconds to see that there's nothing obsessively negative about Trequartistas posting, and it's a perfectly reasonable view.

What about the Matic link? I would not be surprised to see us upgrade Massimo this window.

No need to get upset about differing opinions.

I said Cajuste was clearly Premier League class. Some may think that's overly positive.

We need defenders.

We've just been cuffed 8 - 0 on agregate at home over the past two games

Back 5 or back 3, doesn't matter, its a hotch potch of gambles and hopes that they can step up. It's not looking likely that many of them will or can. BG, granted it was his first game after not playing for a while...all he did was ball watch after a player gets past him at least half a dozen times and I don't remember him tackling once. If you noticed the body language of the players to him they are not convinced. However he isn't the biggest problem.
