I've posted about RFK Jr a few times and was even told that he wouldn't be put forward by some Trump apologists but he goes far past "no discernible ability", he's a dangerous anti-science crank.

The fact that there is a chance he could be in charge of US health policy boggles the mind.

I find the state of social media in this regard really worrying at the moment, typically all the people you see denying it and it's need are those in advantaged positions in either socially or economically. Ironically the need for action is being proven by the loud voices that are trying to shout it down.

Neurodiversity is a subject very close to my heart as my kids are both autistic and ‘normal life’ is hard enough without those with disabilities being rounded on by Trump et al and all those low life’s who feel empowered to start vocalising their bile on line. But in an American context it is less than 60 years since segregation ended, and what is going on in America now does seem to represent a return to the attitudes on the part of Trump and many in the MAGA movement that prevailed when segregation was in place. |  | | |

I find it heartbreaking to hear how people from under represented backgrounds are now just being rounded on with no evidence at all, it's just because they are the easiest of easy targets. If you think these groups find it hard to discuss and represent themselves they sure as hell will find it difficult to find confidence to defend themselves.
We saw the destruction that trumps words brought when he lost power last time, that time the anger was directed very physically to government officials. The world and it's workplaces are difficult enough for some people as it is with a witch hunt in place to blame them for the misdemeanors of others.
