It's this that fuels the frustration isn't it...

We've been competitive and close, but just not able to see things out.

Oh what could have been.

today just highlighted the challenge, we brought on Jack Taylor, a 26 year old who is worth ~£3m and has moved for a grand total of around £2.5M in his career while at the same time Chelsea brought on Jadon Sancho who at 25 is worth around £30M, and has cost clubs close to £100M during his career.

Our starting XI has competed more often than not, but our depth from the bench is a long way short of established PL teams.

But it's not 'what could have been', not really.
We have done very well to get into and stay in games for sizeable chunks at times. But the reality is that it's by chasing absolutely everything and running our better players into the ground.

Then the gulf in class is exposed sooner or later when our second string come on, ultimately a downgrade, and the other teams bring on players that would break our transfer record again and again, and that's Bournemouth and Brentford as well as Chelsea and City.

The frustration is that it needs 4-6 decent transfer windows to get a premier league level squad together, as well as a couple of years of prem money.

It shows we've been competitive, and much more so than Leicester and Southampton. And that's bloomin good.

What makes me laugh is that, according to this website, we have 1 more open play goal than Manchester United.

Sancho is essentially a luxury Philogene, that's what we are up against

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

Arguably Philogene is a luxury Philogene, when who we really needed to buy was a younger Sam Morsy.

Even more stark when you look at the table by minutes played:

At 75 minutes we would be staying up and Man Utd going down!

Man U have been so bad this season. I still can't fathom how we could not get anything out of the game they went down to 10 men.
