Weekly MOTD moan. 22:42 - May 3 with 1725 views | TheBoyBlue | Why is Leicester-Southampton on before us? In a swathe of meaningless games, I'm surprised that a 2-2 with a team coming back from 2-0 doesn't feature higher. Never mind. Shan't have to worry about it next season.

OK, they did have mention Encisco for 30 seconds. Yeah, but that's OK, he's not really an Ipswich player

Normally I'd agree with you. But still not sure why a routine win for one relegated team against another relegated team should come ahead of any game. Oh, except Lineker supports Leicester I suppose.

I don't like us being associated with a team that currently has the joint worst points totals in PL history, and a team that didn't score a goal at home for about 4 months. We've definitely been competitive in the majority of our games. Some of the questions from the national media to McKenna this season have been ridiculous, with no perspective taken into account. One reporter at Newcastle asked if the pressure of relegation led to Johnson's red card last week. Such a ridiculous take. Having said all that, the MOTD pundits don't really have any reason to discuss us anymore unfortunately, as they won't be watching us next season.

The facts are though that we have one more point than Leicester after 35 games and are both relegated, who exactly do you want us to be associated with? Just don’t think it’s worthy of getting that upset over tbh. Not defending the national media but I doubt they’re going to be that clued up on us and some of criticism of our defending and seeing out games has been justified. Who cares really, half of them are clowns whoever they talk about. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Weekly MOTD moan. on 00:54 - May 4 with 1274 views | quirkie | Lineker, Shearer gone in a couple of weeks, all change start of next season. Long overdue, Lineker is an utter twonk. Basically we have got to earn the respect and that means an immediate return to the Premier League, learn the lessons from this season, stay there and establish ourselves as a long term Premier league side. I'm sure that is the goal, achievable or not I don't know, but if the likes of Palace and Brighton can do it, don't see why this club can't do it.

Vardy going to 199 probably helped.

Yeah, I 100% know why they say what say or don't say about us. We, as Ipswich fans, all acknowledge that we've come from mid table L1 to the PL in 2 years. But I'm also fully aware that the pundits won't say that every week, as a caveat, when we don't win. The thing that frustrates me, and many others is the over analyising of every team we play if they don't beat us. I wouldn't mind the pundits discussing our tactics for once.

Spot on. You’d think our opponents were playing against themselves the way those pundits go on sometimes. They’re *supposed* to be professionals, god knows they’re getting paid enough and it’s those of us who are license holders who are paying their salaries, so I rather expected them to respect us fans accordingly. Hoped in vain obviously. The sooner those thieves of a living are gone the better.

I don't dislike Lineker at all, and think he's a very good presenter. What I am extremely tired of is all the bants between ex players - not a thing can happen with a club they were once at, or with a records table they are on, without it becoming a little opportunity to talk about themselves and make jokes. It's tiresome.

Well, they could have talked about how Town (again) quickly conceded 2 preventable goals in a game where little of note had been happening. 1. allow a cross in far too easily (happened far too often this season), defender missed his header & allows Beto a free header. 2. Defence backs off, allowing McNeil a free hit (again, happened regularly).
