At least we've ripped the plaster off now with the bigger departures. Delap, Hutchinson, Tuanzebe, Morsy, Burgess. Certainly leave some big holes, but we'll know where we stand now both financially and squad wise, and hopefully won't be left losing important players close to deadline day.

Fun bit now hopefully, a few big ticket arrivals.

Absolutely. The earlier the better.

We've also turned £37-40m outlay into £70m despite relegation. That has to be the model for this club - not every signing we make will come off so that helps set against a likely loss on Muric.

£70m in sales, £57-£60m in parachute payments, surely £30-£40m in commercial revenue. Puts us in a seriously strong position PSR-wise.

That's the way I'm also trying to view it. O'Shea is staying (it would appear), so unless someone comes in with silly money for Davis it appears the worst is over.

Your list of five are the big, experienced departures and we've already effectively replaced Morsy and one of Tuanzebe or Burgess.

Now it's all about plugging the areas where we already knew we have obvious weaknesses - central midfield and up front.

I just hope we’ve replaced Morsy’s impact on the pitch. In theory we’ve upgraded, but Sam somehow stuck it all together (in the Championship moreso). Hopefully we’ll be fine, but I’ll be a bit nervous until we get going. And I’m looking forward to seeing who else we’ll be bringing in in the middle of the park.

I think player wise the following may still go

Muric.. abroad
Davis.. I can't see the bottom half clubs of prem ignoring his attacking stats.
Broadhead.. back home :(
Al hamadi
Obv morsy and hutch ( covered by your op obv)

a niche perspective

Would Davis new contract have a release clause in it? Maybe I guess, just think the club would need daft money now to consider letting him walk. He was lethal in the Championship but struggled defensively last year, that should in theory help us.

Al Hamadi and Muric, I can't really see getting league minutes for this club again, so not too worried there.

Broadhead should be worth x4 what we paid for him as well but would not mind seeing him stay.

If Davis has a release clause (and everyone seems to have one these days) then it would have been set at a time his stock/value was a lot higher when he signed that contract.

I think we are well covered there in that if Leif goes, we get max value due to a club hitting the clause, or we tell them to sling their hook.
