Training at Portman Road, good - Team for Southampton 21:04 - Aug 15 with 1756 viewsunstableblue

Palmer
Young OShea Greaves Davis
Azor Taylor
Ogbene Szmodics Clarke
Hirst

Would be happy with Johnson at right back

Wouldn’t be a surprise if Philogene starts on left and Clarke on right

Better with Billy left & Clarke on the bench!

The fact Johnson didn’t start Tuesday and Young played 90 points to BJ starting I would think.

Prefer Chaplin from start, he knits things together and Szmodics can come off the bench to fill one of several positions potentially – which we probably need given lack of numbers.

Agreed. Not everything Chappers does comes off but he makes things happen and his link up play is way ahead of Szmodics'.

Chaplin had a poor season in the Prem and struggled at the level, and perhaps because he was being used as a sub

Think his pre-season has been mixed

But he does bring experience and as you say can link play and patterns together

Szmodcis left, Chaplin 10 and Clarke right perhaps the selection, Ogbene more impact

Philogene also an impact for Szmodics is he’s not fully fit

Although perhaps Philogene may well start - if he’s had a few days training
