I’ve been saying it since Villa at home last year and I always get downvoted for it, but I really, really don’t rate Greaves at all. I don’t see what he brings to the team.
His passing is erratic, he is ALWAYS moaning (the most I’ve seen from a town player since Pitman), has made so many errors leading to goals and is surprisingly weak on the ball at times. There’s no way he deserved to be in the team ahead of Burgess last year.
I seem to be in the complete minority, so it’s possible I’m mental, but I just don’t see it with him, especially for the money we spent. [Post edited 23 Aug 15:28]

You are spot on. Teams are actively not pressing him because they know he will slow down the play and will not make or see any early positive pass. However the right side is much worse. So soft and lacking in nouse, ability to hold the ball under pressure or to see and deal with danger. | | | |
