A player that’ll get the fans on their feet
We’ve no one currently who makes you stand up with anticipation
IMHO it’s not just the lacklustre , pedestrian , mundane build up play it’s a spark
We desperately need someone coming in who’s capable of beating their man , getting to the byline and cutting the ball back for the midfielders running in whilst Hirst drags the defenders away
We’ve got J Clarke and Philogene who could and should be doing this but something fundamentally is wrong. KMcK always used to bang on about partnerships. For the most , the players in the attacking part of the squad have had enough time (at least ) a full season and if not a pre season (McAteer and Akpom obviously excluded ) to get the patterns ingrained.
I really wonder if we’re trying to tinker too much. Leif is a shadow of himself from the last championship season.
I truly hope whoever is incoming they / he will be someone who can beat a player , a grafter , and most of all someone who gives 100% |  |

I think the biggest problems are lack of confidence, cohesion and leadership within the squad.
I don’t think there is a question really over the talent these players have but it’s not working so far this season.
For what it’s worth I don’t think we had a cat in hells chance last season but I think it’s done considerable damage along with losing players we surely didn’t really want to lose.
I don’t disagree we need signings but I think the perfect signing would be a leader on the pitch with infectious confidence, a Jim Magilton if you will. |  | | |

Lies, damn lies and statistics. We all saw how well Burns and Chaplin played together. I didn’t see that last week. Thought Chaplin did well we came on and Ogbene was ok too but you can’t compare what those two did last week to what we were watching in 22/23 and 23/24 . It wasn’t always about directly linking up either, the off the ball running and creating space for each other was excellent in those seasons . One of many things that was spot on about that team. I get your thinking, but being honest I think time had run it's course for both of those players.
Morsy stated he didn't expect to leave in this transfer window, but equally I think we all knew he was not going to be starting every game. Plus it was his last chance to set him and his family up for life. Great great player for us, I wish him all the best and his name will go down in history.
In terms of Burgess, he really did a great job for us too...but when 1 on 1 he struggled but had a great "connection" with Leif. I personally feel that Burg would be called out the same as Greaves has been. If being super cynical, we wouldn't have seen Burgess carry the ball up into midfield and being dispossed against Saints. Just watched Hayden Hackney run the game at Norwich. I think he was the main signing of the summer. And yet he doesn't want to come. I think McKenna has been undone by this, could build the team around him. I think we have Jack Taylor playing as a makeshift. Clearly its the area thats an issue. Not long to solve it. |  |

We are absolutely missing that defence stretching pace and agression, and the constant risk of a diagonal switch.
It gave us space to play because the opposition left back had to be aware. It opened space for Leif as well, because teams shuffle across to deal with it. | | | |
