Damn you Pompey, what a chance today would have been...

Good result for us. Draws at Boro and Hull would be nice later to keep us in second.

They're dropping the proverbial Michael Ballack!

And a nice little sending off at the end to boot.

Frank won’t be happy. So sad.

Straight red for violent conduct should mean at least 3 matches missed by their best defender.

The gods seem to be smiling on us at the minute. Let's hope that continues for the rest of today's fixtures!

Their next two league games are at home against Leicester and Millwall which aren't easy by any means.

Not sure about the gods smiling on us but I think the Pompey ground staff are laughing at us!

You wouldn’t think they are 8 points clear at top from reading their fans on Twitter. Headloss and then some.

Certainly the fans are. Surely there's enough common sense there to enjoy the ride, keep the hope, look forward to new signings, realise it's the best place they have been in years and years. But, no:

"Im [effing] done! Im [effing] done with this season!"
"Absolutely done, we’ll be lucky to finish in the top six"
"This lot are a bunch of jokers. No passion or guts"
"Okay, over, out"
"We are completely done. We’ll be lucky to make the play-offs."
"There’s worse to come yet, this is just the beginning of the drop off. Heads have gone."

Alseo, question for Phil - how come we can't swear on this forum? I thought it was a legal thing, but every other forum has swearing. Just curious.

Not sure they're laughing at us. Maybe at the authorities.

They may have most of their players back when the fixture is rearranged, but the chances are we could be running on all cylinders by then, and with even more strengthening in the window they could still end up being destroyed.

Would be the same here. In fairness they’ve picked up just 8 points from their last 6 games.

They’ve got enough space to be relatively confident of top two though, I can’t see anyone else capable of the kind of form to stop them.

For sure it would be equally toxic if we were in their position. A half decent window and they’ll be fine. Plenty of cushion.

I don't know, I would have thought that on paper but something is rotten in the state of Coventry - the fans hate the owners, the players are confused, they are potentially freefalling and a couple of biggish signings may not stop that.

If we kick on, if Middlesbrough consolidate and get a good signing, i can see Coventry slipping to 3rd or further.

To be fair, I think if I was a Coventry fan I would be very worried. There is a long way to go and they look a pale shadow of what they must have been like to have got themselves into the position they are in. The whole body language and demeanour of Lampard and most of their players is that of resignation. At the rate they are going I wouldn't be surprised for them to struggle to stay in the top six from a position where a few weeks ago you would have backed them for automatic promotion and quite probably the title.

I think they’ll be fine too, sadly.

Two seasons ago, four teams were going like a train. Any one or two dropping off still left two others and that’s what happened. Let’s face it, all beneath Coventry blow hot and cold. That’s why if we are able to build consistent winning underpinned by a decent defence and all round improvement, we will be in with a very good chance.

I have not seen much of them but gather the issue for Coventry is that the goals have dried up at the moment. I wasn’t hugely impressed in their games against us, but they are 8 points clear for a reason. I too think they’ll be fine.

I'm not so convinced. Free falling, players getting silly red cards and general lack of positivity. Think they'll slip to the play-offs which would be hilarious

Im sure its not true that the majority of other forums allow swearing. It lacks class and very unwelcoming. A terrible idea!

If we get this January transfer window right we’ll win this league at an absolute canter.

Not saying it's a good look - though generally i dislike censorship, i would rather people simply didn't eff and blind in such a forum.

I was just wondering why, as recently have looked at lots of other club's forums and generally there is no censorship.

Also, to add, the UI of TWTD is generally far better, especially with the chatroom - most boards have hundreds of new messageboard threads every matchday just for a passing observation on a pass or shot.
