The afternoon in Sheffield just got worse….. got a parking fine through for £60.
It was the hard-standing car park near the Wetherspoons at the bottom of Eccleshall Road.
We were chuffed to find it as well as it was pretty cheap… downloaded the app and the payment can’t have gone through - checked bank and credit card statements and no sign of a payment.

Worth an appeal. It’s quite hard to enforce a fine on private land if you’ve made an attempt to pay. Appreciate proving that is difficult when it hasn’t gone through, but can you offer for them to check the app download or something? Chances are it’s a 3rd party and they won’t be able to, but shows some willing and intent. Might get a big fat fook off, but from my experience it’s always worth asking the question and stating you thought it was paid for. |  | | |

Can’t prove I did pay, although I’m blooming sure I did… do have a vague recollection of dodgy reception there at the time.

Bloody parking apps, they’re useless. Always keep the ticket for ones I’ve paid on site, got loads of them in my car just in case after nearly getting fined parking behind Debenhams in Ipswich a few years ago. | |

From someone who lives in Sheffield I can concur , the signal up and down Eccy Road is shocking so I’d say that was the problem unfortunately |  |

Think it's a matter of contract law rather than anything criminal. If you're interested in the area google Parking Eye case. It went to the highest court in the country so it's still valid I believe | |

From what I have looked up, I think parking charge notices on private land can be pursued in small claims court but this doesn’t often happen. ( but never say never! ) | | | |
