Watching back the highlights of yesterday. 19:46 - Feb 8 with 954 viewsBlueBadger

We've seen some terrific own goals this season, haven't we? Great finish from Travis yesterday.

What's your favourite ever OG?

I'll get this one our of the way now.

Ullathorne and Megson aside, it has to be this one.

Magnificent. Gazza-esque.

There was one at PR, which was against us so kind of takes the gloss off, but believe it was Eddie Youds that miscontrolled the ball, stood on it, sat on it before finally scrambling it over our goal line.

Couldn't help but laugh at the time. No idea who it was against now.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

Think it was v Arsenal at PR.

I'm sure Lee Dixon scored a similarly comedic own goal in the same game. We were stuffed 1-5.

I can't believe Travis goal was an accident...

Best OG I've seen is 1979 when Hunter lobbed Cooper from IIRC quite far out of the penalty area,v we lost 2-1Liverpool

Followed closely by an Ian Cranson diving header away at Swindon

Mogga scored a couple of belters with us – diving header in front of our fans at Birmingham and I'm pretty sure he unloaded a spectacular lob against someone (Blackburn?) too.

Some may also remember an absolutely emphatic Phil Whelan finish at Ewood Park in 1992-93.

It must be a Town record this season for OGs scored for us by x-Town players. Certainly if you include Wolfies deflection for our first goal at Cov, and technically he also got a toe to the 2nd then isn't that 5 this season?

I don't know if there's footage of it but the absolute best OG by a Town player was a classic Micky Stockwell chipping his own goalie from well outside the box. I think against Swindon circa 87.
