| "Experience this match in 3D" 00:49 - Jun 15 with 930 views | Trequartista | This option is available on BBC Sport website whilst the match is on which is interesting rather than useful as you can just watch the match anyway. But I'm wondering if this option might in future exist for matches that are not on telly, or at least on a subscription only channel. I wonder what the legal position is. I would think it's fine. Not that sort of 3d. It's essentially like the same type of imagery as the offside graphics. 3d representations of the game. You can swivel it around and few any angle of the game. It's clever but you wouldn't watch the game like that. Maybe on the iPad while watching normally....no idea | |

Honestly, the BBC can't win. They'd get absolutely slated for using license fee payer's money sending however many people to the US as part of their coverage

Yes, I'd rather BBC wasted a load of licence fee money on a pointless local studio that adds nothing to the coverage?!?

Yeah it’s a bit of a joke they’ve not bothered going out there for the group stages, poor effort. BBC usually kick ITVs arse but ITV seem much better this time round, even with the graphics during the game - BBC boring on that front. Only thing with ITV is bloody Sam Matterface.

Yes 3D is a bit of a misnomer it's more like watching a 80s version of FIFA. I think this is just a bit of a World Cup gimmick, but I would expect in the future this sort of thing to be available and I wondered if broadcasters who have paid billions and demand a subscription to watch the real match on tv would mind if this simulation was available for free.
