Good old Gary, with his gleaming white teeth, arrived without compensation because he's unemployed, so he's worthless on the balance sheet. Which means a small transfer fee for us to sign him would be a 100% net profit in the accounts, especially before the end of the financial year on June 30th. Also, it will be harder to sell players during that same period because of the World Cup.

O'Neill himself won't hesitate long between a farm team and the tractor boys; we're still talking about the rednecks, but the latter play in the Premier League. At least he won't have given us a load of demagogic nonsense like that other jerk.

In short, the only big question is whether Ipswich really wants him.

And the little bonus question is what kind of crazy scheme Puyi de Balgau will come up with if it happens.

————————————————

He finished 5th in Ligue 1. Apart from Paris, the best matches were with him. And he spared us a bit of the Rosenior Ball.

I prefer Antonetti a hundred times over, who's my favorite, but he does the job, nothing spectacular, but oh well.

——————————
Yes, he may have made mistakes in some matches, like all coaches, but his record is far from bad, and a bit of stability wouldn't hurt, especially with the player transfers to come.
If a Premier League club is interested in him, he's not exactly a complete novice.
He's a young coach, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, and I'd like to see him for a season. Full.

—————————-

For me, whether he stays or leaves makes no difference.

In my eyes, he's just an average, one-dimensional coach who's simply building on his predecessor's work, making only minor adjustments, without adding any real value compared to any other average French coach.

The problem is, if he leaves, we don't know if we'll get another average coach like him, a young, innovative, and ambitious coach like Rosenior, or an incompetent one like Vieira.

So, if he leaves for a coach of the same or higher caliber, no problem. If he leaves only to be replaced by someone less capable, no thanks

—————————

I'd also like him to stay, considering what he's done with a team he didn't choose, whose playing systems were already established, without having the time to truly change the organization, with the fatigue from the packed schedule, the limited rotation due to weak substitutes, and the major injuries he had to manage and compensate for.

Okay, there were some missteps or choices that didn't go down well, but did he really have a choice? I'm not so sure.
Under these circumstances, finishing 5th in the second half of the season, reaching the semi-finals of the Coupe de France and the semi-finals of the European Cup is a remarkable achievement.

Just writing that we were semi-finalists in the European Cup still fills me with pride, like a kid. After 40 years of supporting Racing, given the evolution and madness of modern football, I didn't even dare dream of it, and we did it! We were there!

I think some people have lost touch with reality. The lure of money has gone to their heads and fueled their expectations and dissatisfaction.

For me, football remains a fantastic source of pleasure and emotion. This year we've been spoiled.

I'm eager to see O'Neil build a team and dedicate all his energy to performing well in the league and the French Cup.

——————-

Of course he had a choice; he wasn't obligated to play a sick Godo in the first leg against Rayo, nor to put Ouattara in the number 10 role instead of Nanasi for the return leg.

Nor to leave Barco injured on the pitch against Mainz, and even less so to leave him on the pitch for the return leg against Rayo.

So, unlike you, I absolutely don't feel like I've been spoiled this year; it's more frustration I feel, to the point that I have no desire to watch the Canal+ report.

Sacrificing the league title, finishing one point behind Monaco, qualifying for two cup semi-finals, and having the feeling of not even having played in those two semi-finals—so if O'Neil left, it wouldn't bother me one way or the other.

The problem is, things could be worse; with Blueco, anything is possible.

Lastly, obviously it's not O'Neil who builds the team.

Leaving behind a debate about text or no text (so typical of TWTD at the mo!) it sounds from these snippets that they are a bit 'meh' about him - just as most of us lot are.

Oh well, I'd have liked Rodgers or Frank, but if O'Neil keeps us ip for a couple of seasons I wong really mind.
