any talk of walle egeli? on 17:13 - Sep 5 by muccletonjoe
He looked very good in pre-season , Egelli is one of several confusing team selections in first few games. We shall see how it pans out.
He did look very good but I don't think it's any surprise that any of those picked ahead of him are being played. Could he have been on the bench? Maybe but I don't think it's outrageous that he wasn't. He will play in the cup and get a chance to show how well he is doing. At some point he will get pitch time in the Premier League this season too. It is down to him to do what he did last season and show he is worth more pitch time than will be expected. I have high hopes for him but I don't think it is reasonable to expect him to be a key player in the Premier League just yet.
I think we over filled the bench with midfielders last night. Could have done with Sindre coming on as somebody a little different.
Sometimes I think about the frothing lunatics I’ve put on ignore, who will have kept replying to me again and again, but I don’t even realise they exist.

I thought we might see him on for Encisco tbh as he fan his legs off and looked gassed. I think SWE could do well with a run as (backup) no.10, looked lost on the right last season.

could equally have done with giving Nunez a run out for Ensisco in Sindre's absence.

He's plenty good enough for his current role, which is a back up to Enciso. And has already shown big improvements on where he was last season.
He's just another player that people seem to think it's cool to talk down.
The price tag looms over him a bit. He was a symptom of our previous scatter gun recruitment and hence why he sticks out as potential rather than any real specific use to us in the prem.
Not sure it's talking down to ask something of a player we bought for nearly £20m for the premier league. G O'N seems to sort of agree.

……because Enciso is ahead of him. If GON ‘agrees’ then it’s strange that, unlike other players, SWE was never made available during the window.

Egeli was part of a scatter gun approach? Interesting view.
Thought he was one of our better investments and one that is now starting to show what his worth. Think he’ll feature in this campaign and will hold his own.

I think he was also - kid has real potential but we need to treat him carefully. I suspect GON is rotating players based on who we play and whether we go attack or defence
