Loved him here , but his time there almost mirror’s his time here in actually starting and being on the bench.. or not in the squad at all.

Good business done in the end although I was sad to see him go.

That’s an insane amount of managers. It’s a wonder anyone still wants the job!

What's even madder is that there are a lot of pretty decent managers in that list!

Oh come on. They've only had 30 managers in the last 25 years.

Why wouldnt you? Do 4 months of work and then get sacked with pay off. Any future interviews when asked what went wrong you just say well it was Watford.

If you're really canny they might even employ you twice

Some shit ones as well to be fair. Can't help but feel they're trying a bit too hard with some of these appointments. Look at their last 4 managers, Pezzolano ffs. Ed Still. Tom Cleverly. Dionisi has been sacked from his last 3 jobs (soon to be 4) and not lasted more than a year in the previous 2.

They're overthinking it, just give a couple of years to someone with proven experience in England. Dyche is available, knows the club, he'd probably take it.

I dont think they're overthinking, quite the opposite. Pozzo seems to think he can pluck any manager from the Italian league plonk them down in Watford and repeat until it works. I think thats about all the thought there is.

Cleverly could probably be considered a proper servant of the club, stedied them and had them playing ok, loved by fans as player and fresh into management, a moments thought says give him time. Hire and fire stopped working for Watford years ago, but no sacked and someone from the Italian league dropped in (not in this instance but often someone who Pozzo has sacked previously at Udinese)

He's plucked a few out of Italy, but not all of his 400 hires. I just think its a bit too contrarian, irrespective of where they're from. Even Cleverly and Still, not particularly experienced anywhere and no EFL experience between them. Ismael is the last appointment to have managed in the EFL, and he was pretty mediocre at WBA.

Wilder and Hodgson were temporary firefighters, but I think they're the sort of profile they need on a more permanent basis. Agree about the hiring and firing, its ridiculous. To appoint Rob Edwards and sack him 4 months later is ridiculous. They spent 6 out of 7 seasons in the Premier League from 2015 - 2022 but have been pony since. No real surprise when they've gone through about a manager every 6 months. I can see why the fans are annoyed, it must be so demoralising.

Think that's all pretty fair. I think Cleverly has stepped in as interim previously and did ok and then they hired and promptly fired someone else before giving it him. Once done, of all their recent appointments you'd think he'd be the one to get a bit of time. Plymouth stuck with him and atm its working for them.

How Duxberry remains in post is also mystifing, presumably by saying yes Mr Pozzo alot

To be fair, if he wanted to pay me £1m a year I'd say yes to him as well.

Its a circus, can fully understand the fans frustrations.

Absolutely there's a lot of shite in there as well, particularly recently. But there are some big names in there for what is a relatively small club in a Hertfordshire commuter town - if they'd given a few of them a decent run in a more stable environment they might have actually got somewhere!
