John Stones 17:24 - Jan 14 with 4072 viewsgtsb1966

Every time I watch him he seems poor and one mistake away from giving the opposition a goal and today has been no different. Fifty million quid wasted in my opinion.

Yes has been poor - again. Liverpool have been sublime at times. An absolute joy to watch.

There isnt a defender ever in the history of football who hasn't made mistakes

But they’ll still never win a title under Klopp, but do enough in games like this to keep the fans worshipping him

Completely agree. Liverpool will probably lose 5-0 to a bottom three club, but they are certainly entertaining! Inconsistent!

Fabulous today.

I was actually thinking the opposite. I believe Klopp could bring the title to Liverpool in a season or two.

Just too inconsistent under him and he is too stubborn to change. Why he persists with rotating two Championship quality keepers is beyond me.

They’ll lose to Swansea next week now...

I cant disagree on the consistency (or the keepers). Improve that and they are genuine title contenders.

Every truly impressive piece of defending I've seen from him (and there aren't many) seem to arise in recovering a mistake he made in the first place.

He’s absolute goose. Not sure how he’s got to where he is as he’s error prone and tries to do way too much on the ball to justify the myth he’s a quality “ball playing defender”.

Poll: How much did you actually think Mick would spend in January?

The last 10 minutes for me shows why they’ll never win a title. You close out the game at 4-1, not be a side net away to a 4-4

Tommy LOVES a bounce.

Fortunately looks like he's played his final time for us!

Haha, yes they showed the worst side there.

Yeah Pep's got pretty bad judgement when it comes to players.

TWTD CP. Evans Out.
Poll: Neil Young or Lynyrd Skynyrd - there is no middle ground.

He wasn’t poor. However, after watching Arsenal against Bournemouth and seeing Holding and chambers I have to say Stones didn’t look that bad in comparison. They really are terrible.

He was the best defender in the league this season before his injury.

You probably watch him 5 times a year if that. Stones is class. He is still only young and you are going to make mistakes when you are ordered on pain of death to never hoof it.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!
Poll: With Evans taking 65% in Huddersfield, is the Banter Era over?

Close between him and Otamendi though.

Yeah, he stepped up well when Stones was out.

Personally thought Stones was fouled for the Firmino goal yesterday.

I would add Maguire and Tarkowski for consideration.. Both playing incredibly well for the respective clubs and easily up there in terms of their performances..

(Just happen to be less fashionable clubs than Citeh)
