I think you may well be right. We have some winnable games coming up, having seemingly hit some decent form, with our most recent (better) players now reaching some reasonable levels of match fitness and confidence is growing. I have a feeling we could get 6/7 points from our next 3/4 games, which could massively change our situation.
But I reckon we’ve left it too late. Reading and Bolton have both won in the past week and a couple of wins may simply put us back where we were a month or so ago.
My big hope is that Sheff Utd’s final position is fixed by the tike we play them and Leeds are already confirmed champions by the last game of the season. Games around then can be a bit of a free hit, if the circumstances are right. That said, the same could easily apply to Reading, Rotherham and Bolton. |  |

The average points total of the bottom four after 32 matches this season is 25.5
The previous five seasons the average for those teams which finished in the bottom four, after 32 fixtures, has been (going backwards) 27.5, 28.25, 26.75, 28.0 and 29.5, average 28.0
Thus it is clear the overall quality of the bottom teams is significantly lower this time.
