In the latter category, there are the books by elite long distancers, like Scott Durek’s EAt and Run. Or Dean Karnazes Ultramarathon Man. I quite enjoyed Ira Rainey’s Fat Man to Green Man. It’s not a literary great, but he writes with wit and this charts his attempt at the Green Man ultra that winds its way around Bristol. | |
