It went over at 5 to 7 tonight and will be back round again in half an hour (8.31).
Amazes me it's that quick at going round the entire planet. 17,130 mph! How many astronauts on it at the moment? They must be the safest humans right now!
Anyone with telescopes or binoculars had a look? Can you see the shape of it rather than just a bright star?

there are 3 astronauts on board at the moment, one of them is due back next month though Id be choosing to stay up there if I were them :)
its a 90minute orbit dont forget the Earth is rotating as well at the same time
you can make out shape/details with powerful enough optical equipment, though I think to be fair your average pair of binoculars arent of suitable magnification, a telescope would get it but you need tracking to keep up with it, it might be the size of an american football field but at 17,130mph it moves quite fast through the field of vision
this is through a 10 inch dobsonian telescope which is what you can view galaxies,nebula and lots of deep space objects through and planets like mercury and pluto (its still a planet ok) so its kind of the ultimate amateur astronomy seutp
but Ive seen lower resolution images people have got from smaller telescopes so its possible for sure, for myself I dont care if all I can see is just a dot in the sky, its recognisable for what it is |  | | |

Yep they are the starlink satellites, Musks goal is to have 30,000 of the darn things orbiting, darn things because they fundamentally ruin earth based astronomy observations
This was an example taken (not by I hasten to add) last night as it coincided with an ISS pass (the brightest line), the fainter long lines are all the starlink satellites passing in that same time window

Thee space station goes over in about three minutes, it's obviously moving against the background of stars. The brightest thing in the evening sky at the moment is Venus which is visible to the west every evening. [Post edited 31 Mar 2020 7:31]

Once you pick it up you'll know it as it is usually between 1 and 5 mins. Tonight is 19.36 for 5 minutes. It is too fast to stay in vision for half an hour, if it isn't moving it's a star.
Unlike trains and buses it is never late. |  |

Yes, Venus is the really bright one that stays still.
Was pleased to see ISS for the first time Saturday evening. As I watched it gradually faded and disappeared. Definitely was it from the speed of movement and the fact it did that. |  |
