The word genius is used far too much in the world of music but in Stevie’s case it’s more than warranted.

He's one of those performers who has been around so long, it surprises when you realise how young he still is.

He did that late 60s, early 70s thing of producing (at least) 3 great iconic albums in succession, see also Bowie, Stones.

In Wonders case it was 4 starting with Talking Book, through Inner Visions and the criminally underrated Fulfillingness’ First Finale to Somgs in the Key of Life.

Personally I don't think you can beat a McCartney duet for truly pure awfulness.

Sir Duke reminds me of a mate. He put it on in the Halesworth Swan Jukebox on a pool night. I had heard it before of course but never really appreciated what a fantastic song it is before then. It's a song of pure joy and happiness. Cheers Bob

Considering how many musicians have been turning up their toes to join the holy choir invisible in the past couple of years, it's a surprise to me to find one of the greats still alive! Another achievement to add to his already long list!

He did so much good stuff that I'm almost prepared to forgive him for the Secret Life of Plants.

I went down a Stevie trip all yesterday after this thread and didn't realise that basically everything he's done has been sampled by Will Smith or any one hit wonder in the mid 90's onwards.

1) Do I do is over 10 mins long and he casually drops in Dizzy Gillespie.

2) The 70's stuff has the n word in it way more than I appreciated in the spoken word bits.

3) My boy is a better dancer than me.
