There must be a connection (or is that too hard wired) from Ferranti Thistle now playing in the Tony Macaroni sponsored Almondvale Stadium and your Marconi cheese (the favoured pre-match meal of Chelmsford City?)

I am having pasta too (in for a penne...) but with prawns, sliced black olives, part of a yellow pepper and some tomato and chilli pesto sauce - the prawns are in twenty leagues with crabs, shrimps, lobsters and so on, sort of an undersea cabal...

Not many people use the word supper anymore. It's still breakfast, dinner and tea for me and in that order.

Or, in my case, a sign of guilt that I never get round to making tea until it is too late to call it tea.

To me, supper is also a late meal.

I use 'tea' for evening meal if it's something light. Dinner doesn't sound right to describe a salad.

Breakfast, dinner and tea is the correct terminology for a born and bred Ipswichite.
Supper is the toast with condensed milk on that my Nan used to make about 2130 before rushing upstairs and hoping the electric blanket was on.

Ditto.

Although my dad used to have supper, he wasn’t posh though.
He’d go 7:30 Breakfast 11:00 Elevenses 1:00 Lunch 16:00 Tea 19:00 Dinner and let no one get in the way of this.

Lots of pubs seem to be doing ‘supper club’ and the term winds me up, in that usage, for no real reason.
