Talking of "abandoning his role"..... on 09:51 - Dec 16 with 843 views | Bloots | .....as you know I had the dubious pleasure of watching the match from an unusually high up vantage point last night. I started watching Judge. I know this isn't news, but god only knows what role he is meant to play. He looks like a middle aged bloke, wandering round the local park looking for his dog that has got off its lead. He occasionally breaks into a sprint when he sees it and thinks he's got a chance of catching it. Even my missus, who's a bird, said last night "What the F is Judge meant to be doing?" What a club. Lambert out.

There was a moment in the first half that summed it up for me. Huws played a square pass to Dozzell in midfield. Andre got the ball and looked forward but didn't move, he then waited without moving and then judge ran from in front of him to a position 10 yards behind him and then Andre turned and passed him the ball. I think it then went to onemofnthe centre halves and then the keeper. Why on earth do we have to play backward passes if we aren't under pressure? We don't have any desire to get the ball in tough areas and take the game up the pitch. I've never seen football like it

It is Technical Football at its finest. That Man is making the club better by implementing the 'every team to play the same' philosophy.

When a football team loses their shape on the pitch on 10:39 - Dec 16 with 748 views | jayessess | I would hope that "get close to the central striker/get to the back post when the ball is on the opposite wing/make diagonal runs from the wing to the centre" were part of our standing instructions to our wide players rather than something they only do when they go rogue. Never know with this manager, of course. [Post edited 16 Dec 2020 10:45]

Well we haven't done that all season. Even when we were winning games it was still an obvious problem in the set up

Indeed. Apparently Lambert hadn't thought about Jackson playing there until Yesterday (!!), so that probably tells you a lot about how detailed our tactical preparation is. Jacko probably just did what came naturally to him as a striker.

When a football team loses their shape on the pitch on 10:55 - Dec 16 with 703 views | Mookamoo | It does highlight how much we miss either Downes or Skuse. Whatever combination they put out of Dozzell, Judge, Nolan, Huws or Edwards etc, none of them have that instinctive ability of being in the right place when we lose the ball. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

It is pointless playing a six foot four striker, who , even though he is not very good, if there is no one near him to get on to the headers he wins. That much must be obvious surely?

TWTD: We pass the ball too slowly, play too safely, midfielders only pass sideways etc Also TWTD: We miss Skuse
