Playing it their usual standards which actually isn’t that high. I’m happy with the result as it won’t paper of the cracks of how poor a lot of our players actually are.

Now they are being asked to play a different way. Might take a couple of games.

Hang on, they've just won 3 on the bounce. If they aren't confident after those games against sides in the top 8, I don't know when they are?

That's a bit simplistic - take a look at the wider picture. This team has been inconsistent/low on confidence for a long time, 3 good wins in a row was never going to lead into a charge straight into the automatic promotion spots. Your logic that the players are average league 1 players and as such is our natural place has been built on very shaky foundations for a while but you tie yourself up again here - we lose a game and you come out swinging about how it shouldn't be a surprise that we lost because the players aren't good etc. then at the same time try and argue they should've done better today on the basis that they've beaten times higher up in the table.

The clips of training looked so busy with the number of players involved. He almost needs to split the squad down into a first team and a back-up squad.

Whether it is 3 wins against the top, middle or lesser sides that's going to build confidence, so we should've felt good going into today's game. To be honest, I've been pretty consistent with saying that I believe our squad is overrated and I've said that for sometime now. What I didn't like today is the manner we lost, no desire, no heart and no fight. We just didn't compete and lost our battles all over the pitch, that's the bare minimum you expect as a supporter, but today's display shows us all where we are really at. People can say all they want about Cook not "inspiring" the team after 2 days, but these things should come from the players themselves. Really really pathetic. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
