We need Edwards on the left. Kenlock is one of the few players who have improved this season, so to have someone he can link up with on the left that likes to cut inside (as Edwards does) - we could have a really potent passage of attack on that side of the pitch. |  |

It seems odd to me that for the last three years we’ve been attempting to play a formation that relies on wingers, despite having wide options involving either wingers who aren’t very good (Edwards, Bennetts etc) or players who aren’t wingers at all (Judge, Sears etc).
Personally I think our current squad is well set up for a 5-3-2, with Woolfenden as the sweeper, Matheson and Kenlock as the wing backs, a midfield three taken from our various combinations of Judge/Bishop/Downes/Dozzell and Norwood and Jackson up front.
