The beeb were reporting like 12% of world trade goes through there.

Get some chinese engineers in and can't they build like a detour canal bit. These guys build airports in weeks. Can't be that hard to dig a few ditches and join em up.

What do I win?

Edit: Based on a road detour I saw in Cameroon where the road was sent around some volcanic lava flows. Worked a treat :-)

This is an awful stat but during the building of the Suez canal up to 120,000 labourers died. For the Panama canal it was approximately 22,000.

Health and Safety has moved on a bit in the last 150 years.

well funny you should raise this as I was talking to the dogs about while taking them for a walk

surely they need to take some of the containers off to lighted the boat. While doing that they should get a dredger in a close as possible to move sand from the canal floor which will cause the sand under the boat to start to shift

if that fails get a large ship either side to act tugs pushing to pulling in opposite directions

failing that tell a couple of my mates from down Dingle way, Murphy Murphy and O'Flynn there a boat up for grabs and if they can shift it it theirs. Bound to work

*Keno mode on*

So they've given it quite a few tugs and nothing's worked?

That can happen apparently.

I'm sorry to hear about 'their' problem

maybe they need a nice little pretty boat to come lend a hand?
