Portsmouth players rejecting new contract offered. 10:06 - May 25 with 2765 viewsPinewoodblue

Understand Naylor, Williams, Close and whatmough have rejected contracts offered and Portsmouth looking elsewhere.

Wonder if PC will be interested, Whatmough might be what we are looking for in Central defence.

They haven't got any money I was told, think I mentioned it the other day regarding Craig MacGillivray. Didn't trigger his option, and looked to renegotiate on significantly reduced terms.

Whatmough, was going to join Stoke, but think Bristol City, have come in for him.

Williams would interest me, but I really like Marcus Harness there.

Poll: Would love to know the opinions on here now of Lambert genuinely?

Ronan Curtis would fit a PC side like a glove.

Thanks for info, been away for a few days 60’s music festival , Oh joy live music.

On Whatmough was wondering if signing on fees, of players out of contract, counted towards the wage bill. If they don’t it would give us an advantage.

Wouldn't surprise me to see MacGillivray here assuming the ex-Pompey GK coach comes in as rumoured.

I don't know huge amounts on the SCMP for L1 & L2. I know you can only spend 60% of your projected turnover on wages, and it is direct wages only to playing staff over 20 at the start of the year the equate to this figure - (general staff and director wages are not inclusive).

This would suggest 'additional extras' would be excluded from the SCMP.

I think if we are playing ball with Stoke & Bristol City however, regardless of our backing it would still be an uphill task, them kind of clubs would not struggle to beat what we can offer, and also can offer Championship football.

He’ll be Championship bound I expect but he’d be my top pick from this division.

Read yesterday that MM is after him for Cardiff. Managed him for Ireland.

Yeah we've got no chance with Curtis unfortunately. He's been an outstanding performer at this level for 3 seasons so he won't be short of offers to step up.

I think some are in for a bit of shock when they see the market we are realistically operating in. Certainly a level below the likes of Curtis.

Totally.

Yes we might have some cash, but thats all it is and it rarely works out as the fairytale it sounds when investors come into a club.

We are mid table Lge 1, we won't be able to compete with Championship clubs in attracting players.

RIP Sir Bobby

I thought the word around Portsmouth was that the squad's mentality was really poor and the players didn't give a sh#t?
