The trouble being that a lot of players have heard various tales of ‘exciting new projects’ from lots of clubs. Until the new owners actually have something to show like being on the cusp of promotion to the championship and new stands being built then to many it’ll just be pipe dreams. We all thought Evans was about to power us to the PL not so long ago. That project didn’t work. Football is all about here-and-now not three or four seasons down the line when a player in his late twenties will be past their prime. As a supporter I’m loving this new ambition etc but don’t expect players to buy into anything long term. |  | |  |
