Oops (n/t) 22:52 - Jul 11 with 751 views | Nthsuffolkblue | Southgate has done a great job but that decision to bring those two on was not a good one. [Post edited 11 Jul 2021 22:53]

Oops (n/t) on 22:56 - Jul 11 with 717 views | catch74 | Incorrect - he can only bring them on, right decision - they’re better penalty takers. Fair enough if you’d called it as they came on.

I think the outcome makes you wrong. The added pressure of having come on specifically to do that job is not going to help. Whether I said it when they came on or not is irrelevant. Southgate has done a great job. That was not a good decision.

Oops (n/t) on 23:00 - Jul 11 with 666 views | ITFC_96 | This game is 100% on Southgate. Took too long to make subs. Easiest chance to win the World Cup and Euros and still scuffed both with poor decisions.

Getting to this final is 100% on Southgate. No other England manager has managed it.

I guess it was a good decision if we’d won, so I am wrong.

Oops (n/t) on 23:01 - Jul 11 with 623 views | Swansea_Blue | It’s the youth thing. Fantastic that they’re around the team and the future looks bright, but they’re just not ready now. A bit daft from Southgate to expose them. No blame here btw. Personally I’d have kept people like Henderson and Grealish on to take a pen, but then I’m not the England manager. Overall this squad can be extremely proud of what they’ve achieved and we should all be equally proud.

Oops (n/t) on 23:02 - Jul 11 with 615 views | ParisBlue | I'd love to see the stats for how often a player who is subbed on for penalties actually scores it. Especially given the odds are with the player. Carraghrer in 2006 is one who springs to mind.

I called it personally because they've not kicked a ball. Id like to see the stats on bringing players on, pretty sure the miss rate must be higher.

Personally think Sara taking the last penalty was the worst decision.

Has to add pressure because that is then their only role.

Let's be honest. We should have beaten every single team we've faced in the World Cup and this Euros other than Germany. His coaching skills have been severely overrated by the media.

As should France ... As should Belgium ... In fact why shouldn't Switzerland or Denmark have as well?

How many times has that been said though, at least we made the final.

Oops (n/t) on 23:06 - Jul 11 with 521 views | wkj | The penalty-taking order was the biggest thing to me, put the most pressure on the youngest player if it goes the distance. I am still pleased as fook we went the distance in the Tourny, but irritated that we made the mistakes.

That 5th taker is a tricky one isn't it? Potentially the most pressure but also one that might not get taken if earlier ones get missed.

That would be my one beef. England have reached a semi final & final under Southgate. The average age of the team is 24. What more do people want?

Literally only beaten Panama, Tunisia, Colombia, Sweden, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Ukraine, Denmark though. The only team on that list is Germany, had we loss against any of the others it would have been somewhat of an embarrassment.
