I think the outcome makes you wrong.
The added pressure of having come on specifically to do that job is not going to help. Whether I said it when they came on or not is irrelevant.

It’s the youth thing. Fantastic that they’re around the team and the future looks bright, but they’re just not ready now. A bit daft from Southgate to expose them.
No blame here btw. Personally I’d have kept people like Henderson and Grealish on to take a pen, but then I’m not the England manager.

I'd love to see the stats for how often a player who is subbed on for penalties actually scores it. Especially given the odds are with the player.

Literally only beaten Panama, Tunisia, Colombia, Sweden, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Ukraine, Denmark though. The only team on that list is Germany, had we loss against any of the others it would have been somewhat of an embarrassment. | | | |
