I'd personally be happy with signing an experienced CB, a no.10 and a winger.
Anything on top of that is a bonus to me, I do think the young CB Gibson would be a great buy but we need an experienced CB I would be worried having two younger CBS in there.
So in an ideal world for me, we sign Crooks, Celina, Gibson and an experienced CB. |  |

Think that's spot on, we need minimum five more and probably six. Signings so far are very good and it's encouraging that we are choosing carefully & getting deals done. But no hiding from the fact that we are going to enter this season undercooked even if more start arriving now. We won't be the only ones but need to hope biding our time pays off. | |

Yeah on reflection we do need some backups, cant rely on the young players.
Regarding RB I suspect Burns will be seen as potential back up for there and not 100% sure JD will be leaving.
What I really want is a CB who can actually attack the ball and a) cut out danger early b) be a threat at set pieces.
I wouldn't be surprised if we have to plug a few gaps with loans which will annoy some but this is going to be a process before we get a settled team and may need to wait until Jan and next summer for a few permanent players | |

Any ideas whether the lad from the youth team could be an option as a backup RB? Based on the one game I've seen him play, it looked as though he may be one to push on and potentially be in and around the squad by the middle of this season. As mentioned above Burns is obvious replacement when KVY gets another freak injury.

This is exactly what I was going to say we need and probably another CM as you pointed out.
CB’s - Gibson +1 one other (I’d love Cedric Kipre)
LB - Coulson or Robson seem to be the ones we’re linked with (I’d like Maatsen from Chelsea)
CAM - Crooks is obviously the big target, versatile too.
Winger(s) - Celina and one other, probably Jacobs later in the window.
Then we were linked with Smallwood earlier on in the window. Would be a very good midfield with him, Evans, Harper and Nolan. | | | |

This is the distinction of course between what we need/what's achievable by the start of the season and then the same for the end of the window. Agree with both lists as they stand.
I have this feeling that Cook thinks there's a player in Toto, but await to be proved wrong, certainly think we desperately need a CB. [Post edited 14 Jul 2021 12:15]
