That's the modern way.
Cook should have at least 18 months to get it right but doesn't. So we're relying on the Ivory Tower having the patience that they probably can't afford to have, otherwise they appoint someone else, we enter yet another transition period and the pain of losing to the likes of Burton just goes on and on. |  | | |

Sir Alf didn't actually take two years. In his second season they stormed to over 100 goals as champions so he must have got things right a bit earlier than that. |  |
