Most of Burton's threat came from Patrick bursting through on their left. KYV just couldn't keep up with him. He's nowhere near the player he was before his injury. Seems to have lost some speed.

Wouldn't be surprised if we see Burns there long-term if Kane doesn't improve. We've got plenty of options to replace Burns further forward too.

I think we could see Burns drop in at RWB, allowing Edward's and Dobra/chaplin/barry to occupy the flanks.

Very harsh. KVY looked to get forward as much as he could today, was simply out-muscled, not a pace issue.

The other flank is more worrying, Penney completely died second half.

You forget how long KVY was out for! He’s a bit ring rusty, but he’s still the same player.

I only listened on the radio and can only judge by the number of failed passes and skinning I heard, but also the poor appraisal from Mathie.

But especially second half against Morecombe he was just completely failing in his forward, and being very easily dispossessed.

As stated Cook needs these full backs to break and free the attacking midfielders.

We have a back up for Penney and perhaps Burns can challenge.

Don’t get me wrong I love KVY as a player, I just think he’s struggling

So there are other factors to blame other than Cook

A marauding KVY wins us these games in my view

Weird how people see things differently. He was definitely outpaced by Akins on a number of occasions. Akins btw was man of the match by a mile playing down that flank (always thought he was an out and out striker). He completely dominated KVY who has definitely lost a yard or 2 of pace and he doesn't have that quick burst to drive us forward / get him out of trouble. Penney i thought was relatively solid. We'll look a lot better down that side with Edwards instead of Dobra (who imo was poor again, I dont understand the hype at all).
