I played against Reece Topley back in the day. First ball I creamed him for 4, I say creamed but reality is it was probably a massive edge. Next ball I didn’t even see, clean bowled.

Went to the Royal Hospital School in Holbrook didn't he? I think Nick Pope was a wicket-keeper in Ely too - bit further afield.

I played against Reece Topley quite a few years ago too, in a marvellous little local mini-tournament called the 'Cotton Test Match'. He was only about 14/15 at the time. His team (Chelsea Arts Club) won it but somehow our ragbag of drunks managed to tie our game with them and would have beaten them but for a comedy last ball run out. He had a highly competitive edge even then in a supposedly friendly tournament played on some local lord of the manor's front lawn, but Frostie, our loudest resident drunk, kept yelling 'no-ball' at him from the boundary when he pushed his 8 step maximum run up too far, which was basically every ball, and by the end of it Topley was in tears. Josh Rymell on 23:29 - Aug 16 with 745 views | bournemouthblue | There must be others, going further back Tom Westley and Tymal Mills were playing for Mildenhall so from slightly further afield Josh Davey played for Bury and is having a middling county career, I know he wasn't the stand out player at his age group in Suffolk so it's funny how it falls

I played against him in an Inter Firm league for the HMRC vs RHS Staff - he kept coming in off a full run up rather than the 8 step one which was a bit ridiculous there as well
