Look at Morecambe’s XI, Cheltenham’s and, to an extent Burton’s. Look at who MK Dons have behind their front three. We should be dominating and winning more than not - HMS P*** The League is a ridiculously stupid creation but we have the midfield and attack to outgun most teams. As said above, we really should get behind the players but at every club the players tend the dictate the atmosphere, not the other way round. The gelling argument is wearing thin considering Lincoln’s start last year and Morecambe this time around despite an equal or even greater turnover. Three points will do a lot to settle nerves. A good performance is just as important too. |  |

No I agree with you and pointofblue that ultimately the players endeavours are what should fire up the atmosphere and then feed their energy FURTHER
BUT, the MK Dons manager will be rightly saying get into them early to silence the crowd, so we have to sing and cheeer thought that
BUT also even after a superb goal against Morecombr and some passages of energy our support died almost immediately- that was poor, period
I do get though that we are a jaded glass jaw fan base... I’ve very low confidence today, but I’ll shout my head off for the 90 and see where we are come 5pm | |

I love your optimism and desperately hope you are right. But they have a team, we have a bunch of strangers. We have individuals who may have reasonable ability at this level, but against an organised motivated team a draw would be an achievement. |  | | |

Think of 16k spotters in the crowd pushing the players on because they've got to breaking point. They cant see a way through or they've just conceded a goal and feel it's another one of those days... it's the supporters job to push them on. After the whistle it's time to discuss and look at whether they did enough overall. But to expect 90 minutes of town being ontop isnt going to happen. |  |

Regarding your third sentence I think one fed into the other; not sure which way round it was but we dropped off on the pitch as well as in the stands. Cook even alluded to our playing style in the post match interview, saying something like we just assumed we’d score the winner and dropped off. Then their second goal drained any kind of energy which was left though I was annoyed to the crowd’s reaction to that. | |

I think as a collective we’re just drained now - we’ve reached a point where we find it difficult to take the punches which we’ll had thrown at us over the last decade. I thought, as a whole, we responded well to Morecambe’s opener but the second was a kick in a gut. Missed penalty at Burton, missed open goal at Cheltenham... we’re not allowed nice things so what’s the point of getting excited about it? Even when we seem to be on the up something kicks us down again.
This isn’t the right mentality to have but I can see why it’s become very difficult for the fanbase to motivate themselves, hence it’s getting to the point where something has to happen on the pitch to create a spark. The problem is those on the pitch might find it more harder to do that with the tension coming off the stands. | |

Morecambe game when they went 2 1 up. It was so quiet yes we ended up getting a late goal but christ it was quiet from the crowd upto that point.

You could pretty much see the players' heads drop a bit when Cheltenham scored. While it's true the opposition were invigorated, our attacking lost some of itas impetus, too. | |

I think most teams have waves and passages of play, for sure you can't do that all the time, no team can even Pep talks about this, I do get what you mean re giving the players a lift when they need it, Town fans do generally go into their shell a bit when the team needs support, always been the case.... | | | |
