I really think that our our owners will have a bash at Lampard - but that’s not to say we could get him.

Aside from that there doesn’t seem to be an instant fit.

It’s got to be Colin until the end of the season surely.

I can’t think of anyone else who could create such a big swing.

Hope you’re right about Lampard, seems to me it needs some proper credibility to get these players performing - doubt Colin has the energy at his age though

If we don't go for a progressive, youngish, tactical person, then yes I'd take Colin over the rest.

The way I see it they have to be 100% sure about who they want long term, these guys are not ME, they have got big pockets and I don’t see them being here long term, it’s a punt for them and they will either crash and die or sell for big bunce.

They will absolutely want a statement manager but they may not be able to get what they want at the moment. I know it’s only one game but poor old John McG has been thrown into the fire and has come out burnt.

So - if we can’t appoint long term right now there is no one on earth who has a bigger chance of doing it than Col. Not going up this year is not in their plan.

I agree with wanting a statement manager. Some of the lesser known names bandied about just don't seem to fit the owners profile.

I suspect if they cannot attract a big name at the moment, someone like Warnock could well be bought in to steady the ship.

Big mistake not to give Cook more time.Unfortunately or fortunately, these are owners who want to build a high profile club quickly. In order to do this they need to attract large attendances, As soon as the supporters started to turn, they fired Cook.

If this theory is correct, they will as stated want a high profile manager.

It's just an opinion of course, non of us truly and rightly know what the owners want to do.

I'd be shocked if its anyone we as fans want tbh

It's going to be someone linked to Ashton. He won't want to take to much a risk.

Appleton. Pearson or Johnson for me.

Never be afraid to share your thoughts.

That can change relatively quickly, with a lot of luck and someone coming in that makes the club tick.

Ipswich are a club with huge potential. This makes it very attractive despite being in Div 3

I think you are right that they might.

It would be so reminiscent of Evans coming in with money and going for a big name when he chose Keane. With every bit as much potential to be a disaster (although I don't think Lampard is at all psychotic).
