And following on from the warriors thread yesterday.
Top cult films anyone.
I'd have to lean towards Flash Gordon, Dino De Laurientes produced, cheesy one liners and Brial Blessed stealing every scener he is in Ass to that a future Bond, Richard O'brien, Max Von Sydow and Ornella Muti (🥵). Superb.
On the subject of ROB I'll also add Rock Horror but that's as much to do with it mirroring my Thursdays nights.
Keeping it light, This Is Spinal Tap. Like The Rutles, it's not just a comedic spoof documentary, but the music itself is very well written and performed.

Big Bottom Bitch Scool (calm down its all about dogs) and the Majesty of Rock remain some of my fave tunes

What defines a film as being a cult film?
I'd say a few things. Non mainstream (though that doesn't mean unsuccessful), often not well received at first and a following that grows over time, something that fans geek out about and quote endlessly whilstb"normies" don't even register what it's being discussed
The Fountain. Not only a cult film but one of the best films ever made. Kingdom of Heaven Directors Cut. Enemy.
In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Spinal tap is ace.
Best In Show, also by Christopher Guest is also a fantastic film. Think spinal tap meets crafts.
I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun.
I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.
Bad Day for the Cut - Mild-mannered farmer sets out to avenge his mother's murder. The Guard - Cop/crime comedy with the superb Brendan Gleeson. The Big Bus - A disaster movie spoof to end all disaster movie spoofs (yes I know Airplane!) The Long Good Friday - Sharp, fast-moving British ganster film with Bob Hoskins and Helen Mirren.

The guard is superb but I never really thought of it as cult. Perhaps to new to be cult yet? Pre cult?
