That's PCR - currently if you have Covid if you can put 2 negative LFTs together 24 hours of apart after Day 6 you can end isolation |  |

Lat flows still test positive - only difference in being is that the transmissible element is no longer apparent after the 10th
I’m currently sat in isolation (9th day ) and still testing positive via lat flow but another 24 hours and I’m allowed out of isolation as per NHS [Post edited 30 Dec 2021 14:24]

I can only guess that the reason for this advice is that a positive lateral flow gets confirmed by a PCR. If the PCR is not possible, then the lateral flow is deemed pointless as it can't be followed up. The advice is to isolate if you become symptomatic during that period.
We should remember that lateral flows are far from 100% accurate and even with a negative one we should be taking precautions. |  |

I had symptoms 20th Dec , 2 days of negative lat flows , then the 3rd positive. PCR Christmas Eve which resulted being obviously positive on Boxing Day - and here I am

Yep, all is ok just tough as I was positive Boxing Day, was fine Xmas day when tested and saw family but now have given it to my sisters whole family which isn't ideal.....trying to get ahead on some work for the New Year | |

Cheers - problem i had i was out a lot between 17th December and Xmas so was constantly hungover so hard to know if had sympoms.....was testing every day as was doing lots but was clear right through to Boxing Day......and then family went away 27th. I thought I'd be clear to join them tomorrow, but still positive and realistically is too late now to do so which makes it harder for Mrs itfcjoe out there and means I'll end up home alone for 10 days | |

The unfortunate thing as per you and I , this has disrupted a lot of people’s time off which is one thing but the worrying thing from all this , it’s only seemingly going to get worse over the next few weeks looking at the figures
