It was truly excellent, and Martin Freeman was a revelation. Didn’t realise he had a performance like that in him. Quite stunning.

So good that we had to watch the lot in one go. Freeman was excellent.

would have been better/more watchable if set down south. that horrific accent by the characters ruined it for me

Stephen Graham would have been superb in this role, especially given where it was set, but hats off to Freeman. He was very good.

This depresses me. I didn't want to watch it because I can't stand Martin Freeman but it looks like I might have to watch it now.

It’s on the BBC so a lot of people on here wouldn’t have seen it…apparently

Nice to know that the tight wet-look perm is still a thing in Merseyside in the 21st Century.

Being fair, the last time I came back home to Ipswich most people were wearing tracksuits…no real difference to Liverpool.

I preferred him when he was setting his colleague’s stapler in jelly.
From what I’ve seen though, he’s remarkably convincing in this latest role.

Really good. Surprised how good Martin Freeman was too, and MyAnna Buring looks younger every time I see her. My favourite line in episode 4 was "We all need a hobby."
