You didn’t ask for a caption but he’s probably asking what time does the Chevalier Club stay open to?

He outscored Rush in one season he was there from midfield which I think puts into context just how good he was.

Why are Liverpool playing in red, black and yellow when they’re playing Watford (who play in yellow and black)?

Was this a Cook move where they gave their mate a job as a kit man?

For a number of seasons Watford played in red shorts and red socks. In the early and mid 80s rules were stricter about kits clashing.

My earliest memories of John Wark was the season we won the old second division championship. I don’t remember who we were playing, but he was playing in central defence. Anyway, he was running back towards his own goal with the ball way up in the sky and with an attacker running alongside him. As the ball dropped on the ground, Wark trapped the ball dead and instantly turned with it - the attacker kept running not realising what had happened.

At the time, to a ten year old, Wark seemed really old and later on I remember thinking just how good was he when he was mid-twenties as opposed to early or mid thirties.

It's the socks that are the real oddity here, with those black shorts I'm sure Liverpool wore white socks (and shirts)

When they wore yellow it was all yellow wasn't it?

I think you’re right regarding all-yellow.

It does look strange seeing Liverpool in that kit combination. Now, in the PL both teams can wear the same colour shorts but not socks. But some, like Ipswich, voluntarily change shorts to all blue.

Saying that, when we played Wednesday both teams wore black shorts so maybe that isn’t the case with us all of the time.
